Frequently asked questions
What is the biggest subreddit?
In our July 2025 data the largest subreddit is r/announcements with about 303,600,553 members, ahead of r/funny (66.8M) and r/AskReddit (56.7M).
Why do some huge subreddits feel quiet?
Subscriber counts add up over many years and include inactive accounts. Many default subreddits got their members when Reddit signed new users up to them automatically, so how busy a subreddit is depends more on daily posts and comments.
