How to join a Discord server with an invite link

Discord invites look like https://discord.gg/code or https://discord.com/invite/code. You need a free Discord account to accept one.

Join on desktop or in the browser

  1. Click the invite link – for example the Join button on a page in our Discord server directory.
  2. Choose Accept Invite. Discord opens in the app or at discord.com.
  3. Alternatively, in the app click the + (Add a Server) button in the server list, choose Join a Server and paste the link.

Join on Android or iPhone

Tap the link and choose to open it in the Discord app, then tap Accept Invite. You can also paste it via Add a Server → Join a Server.

Verification after joining

Many servers ask you to accept rules, pick roles or verify your email or phone before you can chat. This is set by the server owner, not by JoinLinkHub. Read the rules channel first.

Why a Discord invite is invalid

  • Invites can expire after a set time or a set number of uses.
  • The server may have deleted the invite, been deleted, or banned your account.
  • You may already be in the maximum number of servers allowed for your account.

For official servers of games, creators and brands, the most reliable invite is the one on the official website or social profile.

Privacy and scam tips

  • Under User Settings → Privacy & Safety you can block direct messages from members of a server.
  • Ignore “free Nitro”, giveaway and “test my game” DMs – they are common account-theft tricks.
  • Never scan a QR code someone sends you to “verify”; scanning it can log the sender into your account.
